I needed to figure this out for myself

When I got married, I quit my job and went off on an exciting adventure with the love of my life. Eight months later, we came home to reality and a pile of bills. I quickly learned that my husband and I had two very different views of money and handling finances.

He was a musician, already used to a fluctuating cash flow. He enjoyed life and spent money when he had it and other times, scraped by. I was more of a planner, organizer, and worrier in money matters. We recognized our differences– without judging – and knew we needed to develop a unified approach.

Add all this to the fact that we both have an entrepreneurial spirit. We both wanted to start businesses. We recognized that having two businesses as our main source of income could be a financial (and marital) train wreck unless we developed a plan, based on economic realities and respect for each other.
